This April, the San Francisco Ballet showed their appreciation of city educators by selling discounted tickets for $15.00. It showed The Fifth Season, Harmony and Yuri Possokhov's Magrittomania. This season also marked Helgi Thomasson's farewell as SFB's Artistic Director and Principal Choreographer. I naturally invited my daughter, who took ballet lessons at the SF City Ballet for many years. We met at the historic War Memorial Opera House which was, for those who are unaware, was the site of the signing of the League of Nations.

To say the least, the dance exceeded my expectations. We tried to soak up the exhilaration of posh surroundings and checked out the manners of the well-heeled patrons of the arts. And to my surprise, it delighted this urban if not urbane pedagogue of third grade students.

After the mid-afternoon show, we headed out to meet my husband who took us to the ever-popular Tacolicious. We sat down to a comfortable nook close to the bar and marveled at the friendly and industrious waitress garbed like a female partner to Oliver Tree.

This is our -nth time at Tacolicious but we always leave glad and satiated mainly because the tortillas are soft, corn-y and homemade-like. The carnitas and grilled pollos were tender and tasty, with salsas in festive colors of roja, verde, and toasted maroon. They come arrayed on a quaint wooden plate with perfectly curled and crunchy chips on the side. And the libations could tempt even the most reticent recovering AA with fantastic choices of three different types of margaritas including a drink with literary allusion to papa hemingway and iconic streets in the city i.e. fillmore paloma.

The ambience at Tacolicious appeals to couples and families alike including groups of friends out for a TGIF or weekend relaxation or rendezvous.
